DELICIOUS APPETIZERS (VEG and NON VEG)

                      Heloowww everyone...Hope you all are doing great.I am back with my blog with another recipe or recipes you may call.Here in this blog I am going to share with you, two very simple and easy appetizers.These two are very easy to make appetizers that can be easily teamed up with your regular daal,as a side,for a weekday lunch or dinner and also as a starter to open up your taste buds before a heavy meal.To add more,these recipes can easily spice up a rainy evening or a boring wintry evening with your favorite hot beverages of either tea or coffee or cold beverages like colas and sodas.These will easily add a yummy twist to a family/friends gathering and at the end you are going to deserve all the plaudits for your little hard work....So lets get started....






                                                           CABBAGE PAKODA
                                                                     (VEG)
INGREDIENTS:

  1. Cabbage: Thinly sliced
  2. Salt to taste
  3. Sooji or Semolina: For a half of a medium sized cabbage you will need 3 tbsp. semolina or sooji.Take the semolina or sooji in a bowl and pour hot water into it in a certain amount that it looks like the consistency of a paste and keep it aside for half and hour.This will help the granules to melt down and puff up the sooji/semolina.This will add the desired crispiness to the dish.
  4. Green Chillies : According to your taste and chopped
  5. Nigella seeds/Kalojire/Onion seeds
  6. Hing or Asafoedida
  7. Sugar: a pinch
  8. Maida/all purpose flour for binding
  9. Turmeric Powder : a pinch
  10. White oil for shallow frying
  11. Water:     IF NEEDED

PROCEDURE:
  1. Steam up the cabbage in hot water with a little bit salt,turmeric powder and little oil for 2 to 3 minutes.Strain it.
  2. Take a big bowl and mix all the ingredients together.Mix it very well.Squeeze the cabbage strips in between while mixing.
  3. Add the maida for binding everything up and it will looks like a semi sticky lump.
  4. See if you can hold the mixture portion in your hand.It shall not be too runny or too sticky.
  5. Heat oil in a pan and golden fry the pakodas in batches flipping the sides occasionally.Do not over crowd the pakodas while frying.
  6. Serve hot




                                                         CHICKEN PAKODA
Ingredients:
  1. Chicken: (Bone in or Boneless) 500 grams
  2. Eggs: 2
  3. Maida/All purpose flour: 3 tbsp.
  4. Salt to taste
  5. Ginger and Garlic Paste: 2 tbsp.
  6. Black pepper powder: According to your taste
  7. Kashmiri Red Chilli Powder: According to your taste
  8. Cornflour: 1 tbsp.
  9. Coriander Leaves Chopped
  10. Green Chillies Chopped (According to your taste)
  11. Coriander Powder: 1 tbsp.
  12. White oil for frying
Procedure:
  1. Wash the chicken well and drain the water.
  2. Add salt and ginger garlic paste
  3. Add black pepper powder,kashmiri red chilli powder,coriander powder,coriander leaves,green chillies and mix well.
  4. Refrigerate it for 2 hours
  5. Add egg yolks,maida,and cornflour and coat the chicken pieces well.
  6. The maida cornflour ratio will be 3:1 or 1 and 1/2
  7. Heat oil in a pan and golden fry them in batches.
  8. Serve hot with your favorite chutney,sauce or as a side....
